421 new development contracts were signed across New York City in August 2021 an increase of 109% from 2020 and 88% from 2019. There was also a 16% gain in new development contracts from July 2021 as the market momentum continued. In the seven days through Sunday August 15, there were 33 contracts signed in Manhattan for residences priced for $4 million and above. Of those luxury contracts 79% or 26 were condos, 4 were townhouses and 3 were co-ops. During the prior week condos accounted for 75% of luxury contracts.
